Why do some of the posters have a "Guest" appended to their posts? Are people who don't register also allowed to post?

Curious mind(s) want to know! :)

"Guests" are not allowed to post. Any posting that has a user name and the "guest" after it, indicates that this particular user has been deleted from the member list.
