Hurricane Ike and these forums

Post by david » Fri Sep 12, 2008 2:11 am

Dear Friends

This is just a little note to let you know about these forums and the situation with hurricane Ike.

Some of you will remember three years ago when hurricane Rita came through the area. At that time, the forums went down for about 12 hours. This was because the forums were hosted from a server in my house.

This time the forums should not go down. Since hurricane Rita, I have shifted the forums to a server located elsewhere. I may be offline for a bit but the forums should chug right along in my absence. (Just don't too attached to any porn that may show up in my absence ;-)

If you want to know how we are doing, I will keep you informed though the "Off Topic" section. Of course you must be registered and logged in to read this forum.

Peace and solidarity

David Courtney

Good luck David.
Stay safe.
I say get in the car and head to Austin.

I grew up in Houston and the thing I hated was when the hurricane knocks out the power and the Air conditioning goes out.
Houston in the summer without Air conditioning is not fun.
But you know all this.
Those who live on the Gulf Coast get used to the occasional Hurricane scare, but it is always upsetting and inconvenient.
I will never forget that feeling when the sky starts to get dark and you feel the pressure changing.
Very scary.

Stay safe and protected.
Thanks for moving the sitar forum to neutral territory.
I dont know how to get along without my Sitar Forum daily fix.
