People do, Aanaddha. People do. They SCREAM at him, they loosely couch their demands and their complaints in the form of a "question" so they are able to say "I was only asking". It would be nice to see more truly polite questions addressed to David.

A little man walked up and down,
To find an eating place in town,
He read the menu through and through,
To see what fifteen cents could do.

One meatball, one meatball,
He could afford but one meatball.

He told the waiter near at hand,
The simple dinner he had planned.
The guests were startled, one and all,
To hear that waiter loudly call, "What,

"One meatball, one meatball?
Hey, this here gent wants one meatball."

The little man felt ill at ease,
Said, "Some bread, sir, if you please."
The waiter hollered down the hall,
"You gets no bread with one meatball.

"One meatball, one meatball,
Well, you gets no bread with one meatball."

The little man felt very bad,
One meatball was all he had,
And in his dreams he hears that call,
"You gets no bread with one meatball.

"One meatball, one meatball,
Well, you gets no bread with one meatball."

Dear David,
With all due respect and with specific regard to the recently deleted posts I fail to recall where such transgressions were made. My perception is that everyone including those us participants who disagreed showed perfect respect and courtesy in our responses to one another. Given the likelihood of lengthy discussions to flare occasionally I was surprised actually at the efforts of everyone to choose their words quite carefully.
I certainly didn't observe any 'spam'. While the discussion may have drifted from the original subject, the 'off topic' content was for the most part given as analogies or comparative examples to make a point (one technique of practical debate). You must have seen that at regular intervals in the overall discussion attempts were made by others including myself to bring the discussion back to or in the direction of the original topic?
Still, this does not explain why some of the posts were deleted and some not? Worse, the facts have been destroyed, along with any supporting argument as to why the non-offending posts might have remained.
To be honest, I suspect it was the phrase "gay and lesbian" that was deemed offensive, or at the least touched someone's sensitivity button. If that is the case then my worthy opponent in that recent debate is absolutely correct in disdaining the forced secrecy of people with minority or unpopular orientations in the public realm.

Sincerely,
Aanaddha
