new Sarode CD

Post by arnabsarod » Mon Dec 17, 2012 8:57 am

Friends,

I wanted to share details of my new CD, "An Ode to the Sarode", featuring ragas Poorvi, Gaud Sarang and Khamaj. Tabla accompaniment is by a fabulous player from the Benares Gharana, Sri Bhupinder Singh Chaggar.

Here's the link: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/arnabchakrabarty1

It is also available on iTunes and several other online music stores. Thanks.

Regards,

AC

Arnab,

Congratulations on the new CD!
I just bought it on iTunes, and I am looking forward to listening to it in detail tonight.
From what I have listened to so far it is a really nice recording.
It is very lively and full of energy.

Just out of interest, do you have a preferred vender where people should buy your music?
I bought it from iTunes, but do you as the artist get a better deal out of one of the other places we can buy your record?

Hi Carleton,

Thanks for buying the CD! I'm glad you like what you've heard so far.

As for the best way for a CDBaby artist to get paid, I think that would be direct purchases through CDBaby. Several people have bought this album on iTunes and EMusic, but I have not seen even a dime of it reported on my CDBaby accounting review, whereas all sales made on their own site is reported. For every album sold digitally, ($10), I get paid $6 by CDBaby, which is a pretty sweet deal. Similarly, for every physical CD sold, I get paid $4 less than the retail price. Once again, thanks for your support.

Best wishes for the new year!

Arnab
