Any Sarod players out there?

Its really sad that Allaudin Khan's house was destroyed but almost just as sad the only place on this site you read about it is on the sitar page.

Anybody left out there?

mctoadji, it was an atrocious act.

However, while Ustad Allauddin Khansahib played the sarod, I understand that he played and taught numerous instruments and composed ragas too. Some of his disciples were taught and specialized in other instruments, e.g., Pandit Ravi Shankar (sitar), Pandit Nikhil Banerji (sitar), and Srimati Annapurna Devi (Surbahar).

It is a credit to his memory and his gharana that sitar players and other musicians continue to revere him and his teachings.

Thanks for the response. Of course I understand that; this was more a response that there is a lack of Sarod players out there. It would have been nice to hear something here as well.
