Vocal training

I am curious to know, if anyone is taking vocal training along with sarod. Especially when you try to play the vocal compositions in sarod what changes you need to make?

I studied in classical Hindustani vocal at University while simultaneously studying sarod.

I haven't done too much transposing between vocal and instrumental compositions, but you need to account for left-hand strokes and less sustain as compared to vocal, as well as properly executing vocal techniques such as gamak on the sarod. So obviously there needs to be changes made in execution of the composition, but you can still keep the intregrity of the composition intact if its done correctly.
