Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee Interviews

Post by desh » Sun Dec 25, 2016 1:00 pm

A fantastic interview in which Pt Mukherjee speaks on a series of topics. I thoroughly enjoyed the discussion which gives some insights into how he has become (in my opinion) on of the greatest sitarists of all time.

Part 1 : Early Years

Part 1: Father / Guru

Part 3: Gharana

Part 4: His Sitar and it's construction process

I have only watched part 4 about his sitar but it is very cryptic and vague and it raises up more questions than it answers.
-what were the things he didn't like about the sound (or construction?) of his other previous sitars and exactly what did he want to be improved?
-how exactly did they do that?
-who is his sitar maker?

Would be very interesting to know.
