Hindraj Divekar

What a wonderful player to watch. I love how his facial expressions seem to tell a story along with the raga. Is this a personal thing for him, or is this part of his gharana's tradition? I feel like it adds a somatic component to the emotional context of the rendering that I really enjoy. Also, his SA sounds like a 'low D' (an octave below sitars who tune up to D), am I correct? That sounds fantastic! I thought I would post these for others also; because, due to the way they are named, and alternate spellings, they are a little tricky to locate all at once on youtube. At least, I had trouble.

I have just the opposite. His expressions and hand moves are distracting me from the music. Seems like he is too 'busy' with the audience.
Like the really low D.

What is it with this rudra veena pitch? seems like Asad Ali Khan is centering around F (or F# or E) and Bahaudin Dagar around A.
Hindraj Divekar is playing in D even lower than Asad Ali Khan.

I also enjoy his facial expressions. He looks like he is really enjoying/getting into it. Just makes me smile. And I really like his playing.

Yes, he is pitched quite low and it works for his instrument.
