Lalgudi Jayaraman Passing

It is with great sadness I learned today of the passing of Carnatic violin virtuoso Lalgudi Jayaraman. This is an imeasurable loss to Indian music, especially Carnatic. Father of virtuoso's Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and Lalgudi Vijaylakshmi, Jayaraman is haled as the greatest exponent of Carnatic violin.
I had the extreme honor to run sound for the master in the 1990's along with his children it was a show that is a cherished memory.

I have been able to run sound for both his children on numerous occasions and they will carry on their fathers legacy for many years to come.

My sincerest condolences to the entire family.

Brian Dering

I will also post on Carnatic forum.

Thank you for sharing this news. When I studied Carnatic violin for a year, my teacher spoke of this amazing artist with the greatest love and respect. I'm humbled to be reminded how a master's gifts are passed along. I am grateful!

 So sorry didnt realize I posted twice

Getting old yah know - blaming on the shakey right hand

The Maestro was something special - It was an honor to meet and work with him.
His children are wonderful people, and will carry on their families legacy with honor, and beauty for many years to come.
It is such a shame we are loosing all these great artists of that generation.
