GSO - Gurmat sangeet outreach

Post by tablataal » Thu Oct 25, 2012 2:01 am

Has anyone tried the GSO - Gurmat sangeet outreach program by raj academy for distance learning in US for dilruba/esraj/sarangi? If the person is not Sikh and doesn't really want to learn Shabads does it make sense to join this program to learn the instruments, hopefully to be able to at least improvise on some common ragas?

Hello, I am in my final year of GSO (studying dilruba) and highly recommend it! I am not Sikh but have greatly enjoyed learning the shabad-s as they are really beautiful compositions.

I can't imagine it would be worth your time if you weren't interested in learning the Shabad-s. But my question to you might be "why not?"
