Sometimes is good to check out again the basics. I always learn something new.
I learnt this rela some years ago and is good to watch a well played, clear version of it.
Good stuff indeed. Thanks!

Yes it's good.

Can't help thinking though that whoever wrote the content thinks that Debashish Bhattacharjee has an alap sitting in his lap!?

Can anyone write this rela - I think I have it but not sure. Is it made up from:

geranage tage tirigite tage dha - tete

keranake take tirikite take ta - tete etc ?

Thanks
M.

Well this is the version of this rela I was taught some years ago, I have to check it but that´s what I wrote:

GE RE* NA* GA TA* KA TE TE
GE RE NA GA TA - TE TE
KE RE NA KA TA KA TE TE
GE RE NA GA DHA - TE TE

*in the standar version you can play Re as Te with 2 fingers on the siahi, Na as index-finger Te and Ta with 4 fingers.
in the fast version I was told to play re as Re, and Ta with index finger on siahi

That´s at least how I used to practice this, but this was some years ago so any further information or ideas to make this sound better will be welcome.

That rela works for me - great stuff.

I tried putting the tukra from the same video into TablaLab - it kind of works
It's near the bottom in the list in the browser..

Greg posted this link in May. Thanks a lot, the Rela played by Sri Shubhasis Bhattacharjee (in Track 4 Solo) was very interesting. I tried to document the bols he played, but could someone with more expertise verify this please. Thanks.

GERE NAGA TAK TETE GERE NAGA TA* - TETE
GERE NAGA TAK TETE GERE NAGA TA* - TETE
GERE NAGA TAK TETE GERE NAGA TA* - TETE
KERE NAKA TAK TETE GERE NAGA DHA - TETE

RE=3rd and 4th finger on Siyahi (thumb as 1st finger)
TAK=3,4,5 fingers on Siyahi
NA=Played with index finger on Siyahi (regularly NA played on edge)
TA*= Played as regular TA or NA (on the edge with index finger)

Thanks,
Happy Tabla Playing!!
Sri
