Question about a gat

Post by hombrepollo » Wed Feb 22, 2017 10:59 pm

Hi, this is Juan from Spain.
I have a question about a composition in Sadanand Naimpalli book Theory and practice of Tabla

In page 179, there is a G´th in Roopak Tal

In the first matra it says : TE S K'D TIN TA (for me it looks like 5 strokes per matra)

But in the next matras it looks like chogun or double chogun KID'NAK'TIN'KIN' orTAKE TIRIKIT'TINNA KID'

Usually, in the book, the author writes when you have to play the matras in different layakarias but no in this case. In the same page an the one before, there is a peshkar with the same notation.

Could it be read like TE SS K'D TIN TA ?

Thamk you al for everything, i don´t use to write so much, but is a very useful forum

Phrase 'TE S K'D TIN TA' seems starting phrase of Peshkar Khali and in my opinion it is 4 beats as shown below

1 | 1/2 + 1/2 | 1 | 1
TE | gap + K'D | TIN | TA

1 | 2 | 3 | 4
TE | gap + K'D | TIN | TA
